Sprinkler Installer

Position Summary: 

We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Sprinkler Installer to join our fire protection installation team. The Sprinkler Installer is responsible for the layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of fire sprinkler systems in new and existing buildings according to project plans, specifications, and code requirements. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install fire sprinkler systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge types in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine pipe layout and installation requirements.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install piping components using hand and power tools.
  • Thread, groove, weld, or solder pipe joints as needed, ensuring tight, leak-free connections.
  • Secure pipes to structure with hangers and brackets in accordance with NFPA codes and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades on-site to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA regulations.
  • Complete daily reports, time sheets, and material logs accurately.
  • Maintain and care for tools, equipment, and company vehicle if assigned.
  • Support junior installers and apprentices as needed; provide guidance and training when appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); trade school or apprenticeship training preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience installing fire sprinkler systems.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and fire sprinkler installation standards.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, or at heights.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, threading machines, and other pipefitting equipment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass background check, drug test, and physical exam.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a fire sprinkler apprenticeship program (e.g., through UA or ABC).
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification.
  • Welding or brazing experience.
  • Backflow prevention certification is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to lift 50–75 lbs regularly and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Able to work in various conditions, including heat, cold, confined spaces, and elevated areas.
