Sprinkler Inspector

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sprinkler Inspector to join our fire protection team. This role is responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining water-based fire protection systems to ensure they comply with NFPA codes, local regulations, and company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sprinkler system components, testing procedures, and be committed to delivering top-quality service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough routine inspections and perform testing and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet regulatory regulations.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 25 standards, local fire codes, and client-specific requirements.
- Complete accurate and timely inspection reports, noting any deficiencies or required repairs.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding system status, code compliance, and recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
- Collaborate with the service and repair departments to schedule and support timely follow-up work.
- Maintain and update inspection records using company software or handheld devices.
- Stay informed of changes to fire codes, standards, and best practices in the fire protection industry.
- Safely operate company vehicle and tools and represent the company with professionalism at all times.
- Participate in on-call rotation or emergency service work as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); vocational or technical training in fire protection systems is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience inspecting fire sprinkler systems.
- NICET Level I or II in Sprinkler Inspection and Testing (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Maine Sprinkler Inspectors License.
- Knowledge of NFPA 13, 25, and applicable fire/life safety codes.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Level III or IV in Water-Based Systems Layout or Inspection & Testing.
- Familiarity with inspection software (e.g., BuildingReports, Inspect Point, etc.).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience with additional fire protection systems (alarms, extinguishers, backflow devices) a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, or varying weather conditions.
- Travel to job sites daily using company vehicle.
